ClearV
What Is ClearV?
ClearV by Sciton is a smart laser that goes after the things you cannot fix with skincare alone: spider veins on your legs, the little broken capillaries on your face, redness, vascular spots, and even stubborn acne. It works without needles, without incisions, and without taking you out of your normal life.
Here is the simple version of how it works. ClearV uses a longer wavelength of laser light that passes right through the surface of your skin and finds the unwanted blood vessel underneath. The laser gently heats the vessel until it collapses, and your body quietly absorbs it and clears it away over the next few weeks. The skin on top stays untouched. For acne, the same laser energy reaches down to calm inflammation and help cool active breakouts, including the deep, stubborn cystic kind that nothing else seems to touch.
What ClearV can clear up: spider veins on the legs, broken capillaries on the face, cherry angiomas (those little red dots that show up with age), general facial redness, and active or cystic acne. One of the best things about ClearV is that it is safe for every skin tone, because the laser reaches past the surface, it does not interfere with the pigment in your skin. That makes it one of the very few laser treatments we can confidently use on deeper complexions.
What your appointment actually looks like: Most sessions take 15 to 30 minutes depending on how much area we are treating. The sensation is a series of quick warm snaps, and the built-in cooling keeps your skin comfortable the whole time. Most clients do not need any numbing. You can come in on your lunch break and go right back to your day.
Is ClearV Right for You?
ClearV is a great fit for anyone with visible spider veins, broken capillaries, persistent redness, or acne that just will not quit, who wants real change without needles or surgery. Spider veins are those small, web-like clusters of red or purple lines that show up on the thighs, calves, or around the knees as we get older, completely harmless, but a lot of clients feel self-conscious about them. Broken capillaries on the face are the same idea, just smaller, and they often pop up around the nose and cheeks.
Before we do anything, we will sit down with you for a proper look at your veins, your skin, your medical history. Sometimes a larger vein is going to do better with sclerotherapy (an injection treatment) than with laser, and we will tell you the honest answer either way. If a combination of treatments is the smartest route for you, we will lay that out clearly too. The right plan is the one that gets you the best result.
How to prep: About two weeks before your treatment, stay out of the sun and skip the self-tanner, your skin needs to be at its natural color. If your doctor clears it, pause any blood-thinning supplements like fish oil or vitamin E for 48 hours before to reduce bruising. Shave the treatment area the day before, not the day of. Come in clean: no lotion, makeup, or sunscreen on the area we will be treating.
How to take care of your skin after: For the first 24 to 48 hours, skip hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, and sweaty workouts. Use SPF 30 on the treated area every day and avoid direct sun for about two weeks. If we treated leg veins, light walking is actually great, and we might suggest compression stockings to support healing. One thing that surprises people: your veins may look darker before they look better. That is part of the process, not a problem.
When ClearV might not be right for you: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, dealing with an active infection or open spot in the treatment area, freshly tanned or sunburned, on Accutane within the past six months, or taking a medication that makes your skin extra sensitive to the sun, we will need to wait. If you tend to form thick, raised scars, we will look at it together case by case. Just bring your full medication list to your consultation and we will figure out the safest, best path for you.

Here is why so many of our clients love ClearV for veins, vessels, and stubborn acne.

Is ClearV the same as VascuPen?
Two different tools for two different jobs. VascuPen treats facial vascular spots only. ClearV by Sciton is what we use for spider veins on the legs, broken capillaries on the face, vascular lesions, and targeted acne spot treatment. We will let you know which one fits your concern at your consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
A lot of clients see meaningful clearing in just 1 to 3 sessions. If you have more widespread veins, you may need up to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. We will give you a personalized plan and clear pricing at your consultation so there are no surprises.
How long until I see results?
Treated veins gradually fade as your body absorbs them over 4 to 6 weeks. Heads up: vessels often look darker before they look gone, that is a totally normal part of the process, not a sign anything went wrong.
What should I do before and after my treatment?
Before: skip the sun and self-tanner for two weeks. After: avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours, and wear SPF 30 on treated areas every day. We will walk you through the full pre and post-care plan at your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.
